Proverbs 31:10
"A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies."
Tip #9:
When we spend time with God each day, we become women of noble character.
What does a woman of "noble character" mean in everyday life? As I sat and pondered the meaning, I began to see this passage in a whole new light.
I believe this woman of 'noble character', is a woman who's belief and value system is firm. It is not:
- swayed by the tides of public opinion
- or the cultural norms of the day
- or by a particular political party.
Her definition of wife and mom are not defined by Desperate Housewives or the Housewives of Orange County. And her values are not determined by Oprah, her girlfriends, or even necessarily how she was raised.
Her character, her values, and her behavior are defined by the compass of her life - the Bible. You see, to this woman - the words in the Bible are not idle words to her - they are her life. It's her manual for living. It's her plumb line for making decisions. Her Bible is opened OFTEN. It doesn't collect dust. It's pages are tatered and possibly torn. It's how her morals are shaped. It's how her world view is formed. She is a great role model for you and for me.
Is the Bible your life? Is it the plumb line of how your decisions are made? This will not happen by accident. We have to be intentional. And when we do, we become women of noble character - worth far more than rubies!
I looked up noble character and I found your page. I think that you hit the nail on the head when you said that a noble woman is a woman that spends time in the Word of God everyday and draws her morals and standard from it. Thank you Lord!

DeleteVery deep coming from a woman of God and is full of wisdom. A woman of noble character must be strong yet knows how to follow under God's authority! Godbless.

ReplyDeleteI also found this blog through googling what it meant to have a noble character. Praise God that this is the first result!

ReplyDeleteI was pondering the meaning and came across your site. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Tara,
ReplyDeleteI would like to say how inspiring this post is to me. I was looking up the definition of noble character and your blog came up. It is always good to use the Word of God, in your blogs. His word is truly alive and quicker than any two edged sword. Thank you for sharing and inspiring.
I also googled Noble Character, and came across this page. That definition is what I struggle with only because I am in the word, I am a believer , I have values and morals that are all based on the word , I only struggle with the definition with my husband. I struggle because he does not have the values, morals and same beliefs in family or our Heavenly Father or his son Jesus. I am married to a non believer with non of the same values that I have. Separation nor divorce are what is in the word, is there anywhere in the word that would acknowledge Noble Character if I left my marriage because of my values and morals?? See why I struggle with the definition?
ReplyDeleteAll u can do is pray over ur house and ur husband EVERYDAY God can change the hearts of anyone. U keep going to church, pray and read u4 Bible. And if y'all have kids take them with you to church u r the mother. U teach them the word of God. And do alot of praying even in the time of a storm. God knows ur heart and he will see u through it all. I'm also married and fit years my husband did not want to go to church with me. But I keep going and keep praying for him, and I took our kids with me. And now after almost about 15 years of me going to church and praying for him to come with me he has recently started to attend church and Bible study classes with me. He is not 100% a changed man yet but I see the future because I keep praying and I know God heard me. So keep ur head up girl and keep praying. It might not happen today, tomorrow, or even next year but u start faithful to him and the Lord and God will see u through. Have a blessed day.
DeleteBlessed are those who lift up their eyes up on the hills from which cometh their help.I was married to my husband for five years. He was not going to church at times he would even criticise Christians. That never stopped me from serving Almighty God with all my heart.Infact it motivated me to serve Him more than ever i took the children to church and made it a point I participate in every activity done despite the criticism. For God knows our heart desires this year one day he just woke up and said I'm going to church even though he is not going with me to the same church, without me saying a thing to him.As a mother remember that you are the pillar and the pillar has to be strong for the building not to collapse.Keep on praying for him and your marriage. Believe there's a great testimony coming. He is still God who does wonders only if you keep on believe.Hold on and stay Blessed
