We're finding that women (who may be leery of organized religion) will come to the luncheon.  Impact your corner of the world for Christ by inviting women in your corner to hear practical, life-changing messages.

Matthew 13:15
"For this people's heart has become calloused...
Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them."

Last week, I wrote about the behaviors of a calloused heart.  A callous heart is dangerous ground.  Jesus says, "Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him."  In other words, what little you do know - will eventually be taken from you.

A callous heart is not the path to the blessed and purpose-filled life.

Over the next few days, I'd like to discuss the opposite of a calloused heart.  After all, the opposite is what we want to cultivate.  The opposite of a calloused heart will usher in:
  • Deep down joy within the core of our being -
  • Peace that cannot be explained despite the harshness of our circumstances -
  • Contentedness. Paul describes this contentedness in Philippians 4:11, For I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
So what is the opposite of a calloused heart???

It's is a teachable heart.  It's a heart that hears and responds to the Word of God.  Not just when it's convenient and not just on Sunday's.  A teachable heart is for all - despite our age.  (Young or old or middle-aged.)

Matthew 13:11, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you,(Jesus was speaking to His disciples) but not to them (the masses).  Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance."  (bold mine)

Please note, a disciple is simply a person willing to learn and respond to what they've heard.  AKA:  a teachable, moldable heart.

I don't know about you, but I want the more.  I desire more wisdom, guidance and discernment for my everyday life.  I want to know the secret things of God.

Dear sister, I can say with upmost confidence from personal experience, the more we learn and respond to what we've heard on Sunday morning; in our quiet time or in our Bible study - the MORE GOD WILL REVEAL to us personally - both spiritually and practically.

So I'll end with this question.  It'll be the subject of subsequent posts:  DO YOU BELIEVE GOD SPEAKS to ordinary people?
