Proverbs 31:25
She is clothed with strength and dignity...

The Siren:
  • Your body is your own and you will do what you want with it.
  • You are proud of your body, so why not show it off?
  • Sexiness and Sensuality are empowering and exude confidence.

The Slacker:
  • You stay home with snotty-nosed kids all day and have no time for "getting ready."
  • You already have a man, so why keep trying?
  • You expect your husband to have eyes only for you…and that includes your jelly-stained sweatshirt.

The Spender:
  • You are always on top of the latest trends and will stop at nothing to keep up with them.
  • You subscribe to countless fashion magazines and believe shopping is your therapy.
  • When it comes to clothing, your budget goes out the window.
Do you find yourself resonating with any of these types of women?
Do you struggle as a Christian woman to view your wardrobe through the lens of scripture?
Does God really even care about the way we dress or carry ourselves as Christ-followers?

Actually, the Bible has much to say about this topic, especially as it relates to women. A brief study of the Proverbs 31 woman reveals she was nothing short of a hard-working, successful, well-respected, generous, family-oriented, well-dressed woman. Her husband and all who knew her, praised her.

In the New Testament, Paul spoke about the outward adornment of women and provided guidelines for us in this important area. If you have grown up in the church, you have more than likely heard a "modesty" talk. Perhaps you are tired of hearing about low necklines or high hem lines.   But, as Christian women, we have a responsibility to each other, to men, and especially to Christ to "study to show ourselves approved" in the area of our clothing choices and body language.

So, was the Proverbs 31 woman a Siren, a Slacker, a Spender --  or Something MORE ?
What about you?

Think this would encourage someone else?

FORWARD THIS POST TO HER TODAY!

Also, if you find yourself never knowing what to wear or how to put your wardrobe together without breaking the bank, this session is for you.   Join her to discuss what God says about our appearance as women, and enjoy some helpful, practical tips along the way.
