Matthew 10:16
"Be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves."
A friend of mine has a middle school aged son who plays lacrosse and needed a piece of equipment. She told him to look online to see if Dicks Sporting Goods had the needed equipment. (She was in the room with him.)
So the 8th grade boy typed in what he thought his mom had said. However, he didn't realize the importance of the "sporting goods" part in the name. To my friend's horror, a slew of vile images popped up on the computer screen.
Pornography is a huge issue that our innocent children can so easily stumble upon...
One woman sent me a note last week saying, that she this is "not her issue in marriage right now." My thought was, 'Good! I pray it never will be.' But Internet porn is growing.
I read a startling statistic yesterday:
50% of Christian men
20% of Christian women
37% of Pastors - are hooked on Internet porn.
I've also noticed other women in our culture just accept pornography as the way it is - a part of life.
NOT THIS WOMAN!
And neither should you!
We must be wise women. You may not be dealing with this - I pray you NEVER DO. But vile images are often sent as email to our husbands or sons. Vile, repulsive images seared on the minds our boys...If you are not already, I encourage you to wake up to this issue.
We must learn how to protect our sons -
and
We must learn that IF WE EVER have to deal with this issue - THERE IS HOPE.

About our SpeakersKevin and Rita Bragg both grew up in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Rita grew up in the home of a family who was actively involved in church. Kevin's parents divorced when he was eight in the midst of his Dad's battle with alcoholism. Following the insistence of his grandmother, Kevin became the church organist at the age of twelve.
Rita and Kevin's relationship began when Kevin accepted a staff position at Rita's home church. After 3 years of dating they were married.
In the summer of 2006, Kevin was confronted with an addiction to pornography which started at the age of twelve. As a result, the family left their ministry position and entered a season of recovery and restoration.
In October 2008, Kevin returned to ministry and in the summer of 2011, the Braggs became part of Hephzibah Baptist Church in Wendell where Kevin now serves as Worship Pastor. Their testimony is one of grace and restoration, not just for a fallen minister, but for a marriage, for a family, and for the next generation.
Rita and Kevin have been married for 16 years and have three boys, ages 11, 9 and 5.
Hope it's a good week:)
